I went to Grand Island to visit Melanie!!

I took a boat ride in the Niagara River with Melanie and her mom and dad. Here's I am learning how to drive the boat, with some help from dad!

Here's I am with Melanie leaving the Erie Canal. The sign in the background points the way to Lake Erie and Buffalo.

The Erie Canal begins right off of the Niagara River. Here is I at the entrance to the canal. The Erie Canal was built in the early 1800's to connect Lake Erie to the Hudson River for cargo to be shipped, and at that time was an engineering marvel and was considered the "Eighth Wonder of the World". Today it is primarily used for recreational purposes.
